Nobel Prizes

are awarded in six categories: Chemistry, Literature, Peace, Physics, Physiology or Medicine, and Economics - though the last named is not strictly a Nobel Prize (its formal title is the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences). Nobel Prizes are named for the Swedish inventor and industrialist Alfred Nobel (1833–1896).
